Fake (but still fun!) Tilt Shift
Tilt shift photography is the illusion of a photograph of an everyday scenario looking like a model. The last photo (the one above this) is a perfect example of this, the people, the trees, the buildings and the water look fake, like toy models. It's just a bit of a fun effect you can achieve with special tilt shift lenses, or if you're just wanting to try the technique out, see if you like it before buying a new lens then you can cheat!
So... I had a little cheat with these, I found a tutorial online - Tilt Shift Tutorial which goes through the basics of how to make your photographs look like they were taken with a tilt shift lens. I know it's naughty to use cheats rather than using a real lens to do this but I got excited and wanted to try it! I have seen quite a few sites which shows you how to make your own tilt shift lenses (involving toilet plungers would you believe!) so maybe that will be my next mini project, make my own lens. For now though I'll stick to the cheat!
